Joseph B. Baratta, MD, FACS
Dr. Joseph B. Baratta received his Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Peter's College in Jersey City, and his medical degree from Ross University in Dominica. He continued his training with a residency at Jersey City Medical Center in the Department of Surgery. Board Certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Baratta is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and International Academy of Clinical & Applied Thrombosis/Hemostasis.
Dr. Baratta has been the recipient of a number of prestigious awards, including the Chilton Memorial Hospital "Perfect Care" Award, Medical Society of NJ and American Medical Association Physicians Recognition Award. He is affiliated with Saint Mary's Hospital in Passaic, where he is the chairman of the Department of Surgery and the chief of the divisions of General Surgery and Peripheral Vascular Surgery. He is also the chairman of the Operating Room Committee and sits on the hospital Medical Executive Committee. Dr. Baratta is affiliated with Chilton Memorial Hospital, Hackensack UMC Mountainside, Saint Joseph's Wayne Hospital and the Wayne Surgical Center.
Besides belonging to the ACS, he belongs to the American Society of Angiology, the International Society of Endovascular Specialists, the Vascular Society of New Jersey, the American College of Phlebology and the Society for Vascular Ultrasound. He keeps up to date by attending various meetings and symposiums.
Recently he was awarded NJ top Docs New Jersey Healthcare Resource. In addition, Dr. Baratta is a member of the Seton Hall School of Graduate Medical Education and serves as a preceptor to the Physician's Assistant students in surgery.
Elizabeth A. Coll, APN, RVT
Elizabeth A. Coll is a board certified nurse practitioner with extensive experience in the vascular and cardiac field spanning over 15 years. Additionally, she is a registered vascular technologist and serves as the Technical Director for the Vascular Lab for ICAVL accreditation. She is widely recognized for her expertise in the performance of office based vein procedures. She has performed hundreds of endovenous laser ablations, has extensive teaching experience, and has been an invited lecturer for advanced seminars in venous diagnostics and therapeutics. Elizabeth also has several publications to her credit and maintains professional affiliations with the American Nurses Association, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and the American College of Phlebology. Elizabeth received her Master's degree from Columbia University in New York, and her Bachelor's degree from Seton Hall University.
Chris Phelps has over 30 years hands on experience in the medical field. Her career started in 1981 where she worked in the Medical Records Department and Tumor Registry Department at Beth Israel Hospital in Passaic, NJ. She has also worked as an Office Manager for a Primary Care physician as well as Ear, Nose and Throat practice. She has been Dr. Baratta's Office Manager since 2006. She oversees the daily operations of his practice and staff. She is also available to help patients' whether it be billing questions, worker's compensation claims or anything else that might require additional assistance.
